LOVE - O C E A N

I wanted to be a Marine Biologist and live in Hawaii.  Even though I practically failed science my entire school career, this was my dream.  Upon telling my parents my career decision my mom burst out  laughing and said "Windsor, you've  practically failed every science class you've ever taken." In the interim I worked at the Bay Area Discovery Museum teaching kids art and science with an emphasis on local bay sea life.  I loved this job and discovered that the general population takes the ocean for granted dumping what ever they like into it - slowly killing it.  Last week I went to the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito to check out their new exhibit Washed Ashore.  Wonderful, whimsical sculptures of sea life all made from washed up garbage - Appalling it was, but the message came across loud and clear.   Locally I know that people in the Bay Area are very aware of the plight of the oceans.  I am hoping that the tourist that come to Sausalito and visit the Mammal Center get the message loud and clear and spread the word.   Needless to say, I didn't become a Marine Biologist, but my passion for the ocean and keeping it alive is still as strong as ever.  Stop polluting the oceans and get involved!

xoxo,

Windsor

LOVE - S P R I N G

Our seasons here in the Bay Area are a little out of whack.  We have winter in summer, summer in fall and spring in winter. But the real season of spring  is a lot of rain with a sprinkle of random heat waves.   Oh and did I mention the micro climates?   Tank top and shorts 5 miles north -  parka, hat, scarf, gloves 5 miles south. Basically the bottom line is in order to live here you must be able to adapt to the weather.  We've had temperatures of 70 + for the last couple of days and today I heading to the beach for a little sun, sand and salt water.  See you there!

L O V E - S W E E T D R E A M S

When I was younger and couldn't sleep due to "Jason" from Friday the 13th possibly being under my bed I would think about all of the designer clothes I had to have and put outfits together in my head. Eventually "Jason" would leave my pre-sleep thoughts and I would be thinking of cute jeans and fall blissfully asleep.  These days when I have trouble sleeping I envision my self laying on Stinson Beach.  Waves crashing in the background, and the oh so warm warm sun drenching my body until I deliciously fall asleep.  Sweet dreams.

I L O V E, seashells

I love sea shells, glossy slick shell pink insides, amazing tribal patterns on the outside and the best part is that if you put a shell up to your ear you can hear the ocean. Really you can, I've tried it many times and have heard the surf roaring in Hawaii, Mexico, France and Africa. A shell is a memory of a time and place, a reminder of an excellent day and has an ability to bring you to the beach when you are far far away from one.
