LOVE - S P A C E
Needed to figure out a better work space. It looked like a fabric explosion in my dining room. Called my bro and asked him about an old family desk that I didn't recall being in his guest room anymore....weird he said, "I was just thinking that desk was taking up too much room in my storage container." A couple of days later it was at my house. He threw in a great old chair and a couple of stacking drawers. Voila! My new design area very "shabby beach"and I love it.

BIKINI - S T R E N G T H
Please let me have the strength to push on. Oh, it's really not that bad, just so bummed out that somebody who will remain nameless, broke my laptop and didn't tell me. My designs, hopes, dreams everything was on that laptop. Of course I backed everything up, but I don't have an extra Mac or an extra grand to replace it. So, literally I wake in the morning and don't know what to do with myself - and I actually think he did it on purpose. Always complaining that I am on "that computer" and now I am not. I sulk around the house and shoot daggers into his eyes, back, head any chance I can get. I know he feels terrible about it and it took him days to admit that he broke it, but won't tell me exactly how he broke it. He says he'll replace it....hmmmmm.
I am tired of feeling sorry for myself and not being able to be creative, so I am gonna put on my big girl panties and continue to work on my busted up laptop. It still works, but the screen is shattered on the right hand side and visually makes things extremely difficult. This will make me stronger - right? Yea, someday when I am a famous designer and I am watching my collection go down the runway, I'll say to my team "oh, you see that bikini, I designed the fabric for it on my busted up broke ass laptop!" and I'll laugh all the way to the bank. Ha ha ha ha!

B I K I N I - G O A L S
5 stores and 2 days later I finally laid my hands on it. The recent copy of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. I barely made it through my front door with my boys trying to pull the magazine out of my hands. I literally had to lock myself in the bathroom before one of them did. Page after page of glorious bikini's. I studied every page, looking for details, prints, stitching and fit. It was probably the best $7 bucks I've spent in a long time and it made me realize that my suits are just as good or better and I can do this!

L O V E, Farrah

My brain is bogged down with too many ideas swirling about. I need to focus and finish one look before I start the next. And sometimes I get lost and need to find my direction again. After much thought I found my design inspiration for today. Oh how I loved Farrah Fawcett, wanted to be her but most of all killed for her perfectly feathered hair.

Hey Nineteen

It all started when I was 19 and bought a plain red triangle top bikini. I didn't try it on until I got home and I will never forget the image in the mirror. Gone was "skinny Winnie" and hello Windsor! That was one of the best summers of my life. Me and my red bikini hung out at Lake Tahoe, Stinson Beach, pool side and in the back yard catching rays. Anyone who knows me from back in the day remembers that I spent just about every waking minuet at the beach. I was not going to show up looking like all of the other girls, so I would scour the racks at Macy's and Nordstrom's looking for the most perfect, unique bikini I could find. Fit was key and the simpler more classic the cut the better. I guess I am basically designing for me - just your regular beach girl who loves a great bikini. I designed the majority of my fabric and have had it all custom printed locally. My seamstress is amazing and works with me on tweaking fit and bringing some of my crazy non traditional fabric choices to fruition. I literally can't sleep at night with visions of my next creations dancing through my head. There is no turning back now! See ya at the beach.
