LOVE - I N T O X I C A T I N G

Drunk and giddy with the deep deep intoxicating smells of out of this world bliss. Gardenias, a warm summer breeze, jasmine at night and lavender by day.  A baby soft and sweet, sheets dried by the sunshine, suntan lotion after a day at the beach.  Your true love. Breathe in breath deep get intoxicated.

EAT - T A C O ' S

After a long day at the beach who wouldn't want taco's?  I am totally in love with My Brother's Chicken Taco recipe that I found on Pioneer Woman website (love you Ree).  I drive as fast but as carefully as I can back up Highway 1 to my little local market before it closes, pick up the basic ingredients for this dish, shake the sand off of me at the front door, crack open a beer and let the taco frying begin.  Chicken prepped, veggies chopped and POW chicken taco's for all.  Love Love Love.

P.S.  I added avocado and La Victoria to my taco's.

LOVE - S E A P L A S M A

What the hell is Sea Plasma you ask?  I discovered Sea Plasma when I was seventeen years old and working my first job as a tanning salon receptionist.  The boys who owned the flower stand across the way called me over on a particularly hot day and asked me if I wanted a "spritz" of sea plasma..."um yea, sure guys, I think I'll pass".  They said  " No, no, no! just close your eyes and trust us," so as a naive girl of seventeen I closed my eyes and waited for it.  It was the most refreshing, wonderfully smelling mist upon my young face.  Reminded me of the beach and re - hydrated my hair and skin immediately.  I've been hooked every since.  I keep it in the fridge and use it daily after the shower as well as on really hot days when you just can't seem to cool down.  Try it you'll love it.

BIKINI - S L A N G

Have you ever wondered what the difference between a " Brah" and a "Bro" is?  Does this not keep you up at night contemplating which one to use as a greeting or in a sentence? I grew up at the beach and around many a "surfer dude's" and this has always perplexed me.  One day it's "What's up Brah" and the next day it's "Bro, you were totally shreddin the gnarl."   After many a sleepless nights I had to find out what the difference was.  So, I went to the source and interviewed a few local surfers -  here is what I found out:  Bro and Brah mean the same thing - Brother.  "Bro" is more of a California surfer slang and "Brah" is Hawaiian.  There is really no thought process behind how it is used - what ever comes out naturally.  And then they told me about "Bro hoe's" that's a whole 'nother subject.

BIKINI - S H A C K

If I was to open a little shop with all of my little bikini's this is where I would want it to be.  I would paint it bright colors like a gypsy wagon and I would call it "Winnie's Bikini Shack".  All of my potential chickie's can pull into the "shack" on their way to Stinson, pick up the cutest bikini and hop right back onto highway one for a beachalicious day!

LOVE - S P R I N G

Our seasons here in the Bay Area are a little out of whack.  We have winter in summer, summer in fall and spring in winter. But the real season of spring  is a lot of rain with a sprinkle of random heat waves.   Oh and did I mention the micro climates?   Tank top and shorts 5 miles north -  parka, hat, scarf, gloves 5 miles south. Basically the bottom line is in order to live here you must be able to adapt to the weather.  We've had temperatures of 70 + for the last couple of days and today I heading to the beach for a little sun, sand and salt water.  See you there!

L O V E - L O V E

We all love LOVE and should remember to enjoy everything we love on a daily basis not just on the one day of the year that we are being told/sold to love.  As you already know I love the 3 B's - Beach, Boys and Bikini's and I am thankful everyday that I live a short drive over the hill from the beach, get to design awesome bikini's and have many many wonderful boys in my life.  But I also love my friends, my wonderful family, music and everything and everyone in my life. So remember to love today and everyday.

Hey Nineteen

It all started when I was 19 and bought a plain red triangle top bikini. I didn't try it on until I got home and I will never forget the image in the mirror. Gone was "skinny Winnie" and hello Windsor! That was one of the best summers of my life. Me and my red bikini hung out at Lake Tahoe, Stinson Beach, pool side and in the back yard catching rays. Anyone who knows me from back in the day remembers that I spent just about every waking minuet at the beach. I was not going to show up looking like all of the other girls, so I would scour the racks at Macy's and Nordstrom's looking for the most perfect, unique bikini I could find. Fit was key and the simpler more classic the cut the better. I guess I am basically designing for me - just your regular beach girl who loves a great bikini. I designed the majority of my fabric and have had it all custom printed locally. My seamstress is amazing and works with me on tweaking fit and bringing some of my crazy non traditional fabric choices to fruition. I literally can't sleep at night with visions of my next creations dancing through my head. There is no turning back now! See ya at the beach.

I L O V E, seashells

I love sea shells, glossy slick shell pink insides, amazing tribal patterns on the outside and the best part is that if you put a shell up to your ear you can hear the ocean. Really you can, I've tried it many times and have heard the surf roaring in Hawaii, Mexico, France and Africa. A shell is a memory of a time and place, a reminder of an excellent day and has an ability to bring you to the beach when you are far far away from one.
